Resurrection’s Rule

In C. S. Lewis’s The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Narnia feels like Chicago: always winter but never Christmas. Yet when Aslan comes, the witch’s power is broken, and winter thaws. The thaw of Narnia’s winter shows that a new age has begun. Similarly, Christ’s resurrection from the dead shows that a new age has begun; resurrection ushers in an entirely new age. So what difference does it make that Christ rose from the dead over two thousand years ago?  The resurrection of Jesus Christ releases life instead of death, assures us of victory in the face of opposition so that God might rule over all and in all. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!
