Why do we give?
Giving is a response, a confession and a step of faith.
Response: in giving, we respond with gratitude to the lavish gifts of God for us, ultimately seen in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 8:9).
Confession: in giving, we confess that God is the owner of everything and we are stewards (Ps 50:10),
Step of Faith: in giving, we step out in faith and will see that God will cause grace to abound (2 Corinthians 9:6–8, 10–11), to open the windows of heaven to bless (Malachi 3:8–10) and to provide for our needs (Matthew 6:33-34; Philippians 4:19)
Give as you feel led. At Wellspring, we invite people to tithe to the church and give to missions. Tithing gives to God the first 10% of everything as a response to God’s lavish grace, a confession that He is the owner and a step of faith to trust his provision. Beyond the tithe, we invite people to give to missions, the worldwide work of God to bring the hope of Jesus Christ to those all around the world. Also we have an opportunity to share with the needs of our own community through the Deacon’s Fund.
