Remembering Yesterday According to the Word of God
God creates powerful moments to create spiritual momentum and change in our lives. However powerful moments — retreats, mission trips, answered prayers, or breakthroughs— often fail to create spiritual momentum because we quickly forget. We move on, consumed with the next problem or challenge, but we forget the God who led us in the past. Joshua 4 calls us to remember God’s powerful work in crossing the Jordan River by making a memorial with twelve stones. Why? Remembering God’s works passes faith to the next generation, strengthens faith to finish God’s purposes, and spreads faith to all the nations.
