Transformed As We Follow The King
In the Côte d’Ivoire war of 2010-2011, religion and politics were very muddled. Many churches, mission teams, and Christian families were ripped apart by differing loyalties. Violence erupted over religious, ethnic, political, and other allegiances. In the chaos, it became very difficult to know how to live as a citizen of the Kingdom of God. In John 18:28-40 we are witnesses to a courtroom drama that pits powerful kingdoms against one another. In the midst of the legal wrangling, Jesus boldly announces that one of these things is not like the other. His kingdom is not of this world. His is a kingdom love and we are called to live as citizens of that kingdom.
