HOW DID YOU SEE GOD THIS WEEK AS YOU FOLLOWED HIM?

WHAT DID GOD SAY IN HIS WORD?

Opening Question:

Have you been on a missions trip locally or abroad? What was that experience like for you?

26 and from there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled. 27 And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they remained no little time with the disciples.

Reflect Together:

  • What does it mean to “entrust [our international workers] to the grace of God to do the work”?

  • Why is it important to hear the reports of what God has done through the missionaries we support and send?

  • How does that encourage the missionaries and how does it encourage the sending home church?

WHAT DID GOD SAY TO ME THROUGH HIS WORD?

Matthew 24:14 reads: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” These stories are unfinished stories, that are moving toward a time when they will no longer be unfinished.

What touched your heart as you listened to Steve and Mary and watched the video clips?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?

Perhaps some of you feel a call to be a missionary or go into vocational ministry. Ask God where he would send you. If you don’t feel that particular call, what are ways you can support IWs?

How is God be inviting you to participate in spreading the Gospel in the places you live, work, and play? What is one next step you can take?

Spend some time praying for our IWs.  What is a new way you can pray for our international workers based on what you heard?  Here are some requests:

  • Pray for International Workers who feel stuck in anxiety, depression, loneliness, or experience marital difficulties. Months-long COVID restrictions and isolation have left many of them weary and in need of greater-than-usual support.

  • Pray for opportunites to sow seeds and reap a harvest of new believers.

  • Pray for them to be filled with the Spirit of God in all they do.

  • Pray that they would live life intimately with God through prayer and other spiritual disciplines.
